A hand pump already in daily use

Before this pump in Mika, Wakiso, the nearest water was an open pond. The village took it over in August 2026, with a concrete apron that drains spilt water away and a permanent plaque on site.

As-salamu alaikum. I'm Irfan, one of SDQA's founders. Riaz and I are both funding our own projects through SDQA, and I'd love you to join us. Perhaps you've thought about a water well in your parents' names, a masjid your family builds together, or a home for a family who needs one. You don't need a finished plan. Bring us the idea, and we'll help you understand the options, the costs and what it will take. We call these projects SDQAvestments: charitable investments for your Akhirah. May Allah accept it from all of us.

Before you begin

How does paying for my own project work?

We start with a free conversation and some initial research on where your project could go. When you're happy, a deposit confirms it: the price, the location and the detailed planning. 30% of the total starts the build, and we agree the rest with you, in full or in stages through the work.

Can I build a project in someone's name?

Yes. For a whole project, the name you choose goes on the plaque, and we'll agree the plaque wording the first time we speak. A share doesn't come with a plaque of its own.

Is my share protected?

Yes. If a project can't go ahead, we'll move your share to a similar project and let you know. You can ask for a refund on a share up until work on its project starts, after which it's committed to the project, and genuine mistakes are refunded.
