Terms of Use
Last updated 17 June 2026
These terms govern your use of sdqa.org.uk and the SDQA platform, operated by SDQA CIC, company number [CIC company number - Irfan to confirm], registered office [registered office address - Irfan to confirm]. By using the platform you agree to these terms. Please read them alongside our privacy policy and cookie policy.
Who we are
SDQA is a UK Community Interest Company (CIC). It is not a registered charity. Because of this, there is no Gift Aid on your giving and your giving is not personally tax-deductible. A CIC is a company that exists to benefit the community, with its assets locked to that purpose.
How giving works
SDQA lets you fund specific projects by buying shares in them. A share is a unit of funding towards a project at a set price. When you buy shares, you are making a gift towards that project so that it can be delivered. You are not buying an investment, a financial security, or a stake in a company, and you receive no financial return, dividend, or ownership. Your record of giving and the reward you intend by it are yours; the funding goes to deliver the project.
We aim to allocate your giving to the project you chose. If a project cannot proceed, or is over-funded, we may direct your giving to a similar project of equivalent purpose so that your intention is still honoured. Where a project carries a Zakat-eligibility note, that note reflects the nature of the project itself.
Payments
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full card details. By giving, you confirm you are entitled to use the payment method and that the funds are lawfully yours to give.
Refunds and cancellation
Because giving is a gift towards a project and is allocated to delivery, gifts are generally non-refundable once allocated. If you believe a gift was made in error, for example a duplicate or an incorrect amount, contact us promptly and we will consider your request in good faith.
If you set up recurring giving, you can cancel future payments at any time from your account or by contacting us. Cancelling stops future payments; it does not refund gifts already made.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for the accuracy of the details you give us. Tell us promptly if you think your account has been accessed without your permission. We may suspend or close an account that is used unlawfully, fraudulently, or in breach of these terms.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the platform: no attempting to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to it, no fraudulent giving, and no use of it for any unlawful purpose. We reserve the right to remove content or restrict access where these terms are breached.
Our content and yours
The SDQA name, branding, project content, and site design belong to SDQA CIC or its licensors, and may not be copied or reused without permission. Project delivery updates are provided in good faith to show how giving is used; timelines and outcomes can change with conditions on the ground, and we will report changes as we learn them.
Liability
We work hard to keep the platform accurate and available, but we provide it as is and cannot guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable loss arising from your use of the platform.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top shows when they last changed. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
